A few weeks ago, someone asked me if they could borrow a step bench for the Sunday class. Hers was ordered, but would not be delivered in time for that class. Subsequently, I told her that "I have Goldilocks available for you". She laughed and said "I love that you named your step bench Goldilocks!" As a result, that got me thinking, I should name my other two benches. Heck, we all should name our benches!
Inspiration for your step bench nickname
The obvious place to go are names that are lofty and motivate. Pick a name like Heaven, Power, Aspire, Drive, Challenge. You can also go with a color, or a feeling, or something really silly like Goofball, Hotfoot, or Wacky. For further inspiration, my kids Summer Camp leaders all have very creative nicknames - Stick, Rain, Waldo, Wildberry, River. Any of those names could work. Most importantly, the name should have meaning to you.
Goldilocks
Look at that color! She is screaming to be named Goldilocks. This was the first bench I bought, however, I found it too soft. I didn't like it. The search began to find something more firm. My pickiness really drove the name.
Sugar
My standard "The Step" bench is one that I often lend out. I named it Sugar, as in an item that you may lend to your neighbor.
Madness
A name for my main bench was harder to decide on. While I was brainstorming and thinking of "Crazy" names like Insanity, Extreme, and Zeal - it just popped into my head. It is a phrase my dad loved to say "There's a method to my madness". There are so many components to my Reversehook project, so many carts and horses, so many birds and bushes, and ducks in a row- I find myself creating, redoing, refining, and back to creating all of the time. It really seemed fitting to name him "Madness".

So now it is your turn, name your step bench. If you have a name in mind or a story, that is perfect. Nothing comes to mind? No need to worry, I have a list of names you can choose, or be inspired by.
In conclusion, the whole point of this exercise is to have fun with it. We all seem to have this passion for step, exercise, and fitness. There is no reason we can't have some good laughs along the way. For my participants who purchase the 5 Class Pass, I will make a decal with your bench's name on it. Hopefully these will bring about conversation and build our community!
